Ready for this week’s roundup of podcasts we think you should listen to? Here we go!
Here’s a spectacular female host:
Angela (@angelamwebber on Twitter) hosts the show Gosh Darn Fiasco. If you haven’t heard of Fiasco, it’s technically a GM-less RPG game. Fiasco is a game inspired by adventures gone terribly wrong, and as such all of the characters are normal people with powerful ambition and poor impulse control. Gosh Darn Fiasco is a lot of fun to listen to!
Angela M. Webber (The Doubleclicks) and her friends from the world of gaming and comedy sit down to play a game of Fiasco, and improvise a brand-new story full of conflict, hilarity and almost certain death..
Looking to find out more about Game Design?
Take a listen to Design Games, hosted by Nathan Paoletta and Will Hindmarch. They explore and discuss the aspects of game design, such as visual design, “hackable” design, in-game success and failure, and much more.
We design games in addition to being publishers, graphic designers, and more. We’ve had different routes to similar roles: we both focus on analog games like tabletop roleplaying games, while also working in other sorts of design. We’re talking about game design to learn more about what we think, and why, and how. We each have our own design businesses and we share this podcast.
More Star Wars:
Dice Willing is a newer podcast on the scene, so you’re going to have an easy time catching up! They’re only on episode 7 of their Star Wars Campaign set in the aftermath of The Force Awakens. The cool thing about the Dice Willing crew is that they were inspired to do their first podcast by Kat Kuhl and James D’Amato from Campaign Podcast and OneShot Podcast. We think it’s pretty great that podcasters are inspiring fans to start their own podcasts! Dice Willing has done a top-notch job and have really hit their stride. If you love listening to Star Wars actual-play RPGs, Dice Willing is definitely for you.
DICE WILLING is an actual play podcast focusing on campaign-style storytelling. Whether the cast is exploring the Star Wars galaxy in the aftermath of The Force Awakens, running the streets of Seattle in the Sixth World of Shadowrun, or delving through dungeons in D&D; the story will focus on character growth, world building, and enjoying the game. DICE WILLING is produced by Casey Thompson.
